What’s a Doula?

Just say "Doo-lah."
The word doula comes from the Greek meaning "female servant." Today, a birth doula is a woman trained to support a woman (and her family) during childbirth. As a trained doula, I provide physical, emotional, and informational support to a laboring and birthing mother -- while supporting those (family/friends) who are supporting her.
